Film from director Atsushi Nishigori to feature 3 stories with different worldviews
On Friday, CloverWorks announced that their original anime movie, originally titled Grotesque but now known as Grotesqqque, will be released in 2026 along with a new video for the project.
Atsushi Nishigori is directing the movie, which is made up of three stories with different perspectives on the world.
- "Aeliens"
- "4649 Girl" (pronounced as "Yoroshiku★Shōjo," a pun on the words "Nice to Meet You★Girl" with the literal meaning of the kanji being "Evening Dew Heads to Its Death★Girl". The numbers 4649 can be read in Japanese as "Yoroshiku.")
- "Nocturne: Kono
Grotesque na Yoru ni" (literally Nocturne: On This
Grotesque Night, romanized in the above video as "Nocturn: En Cette Nuit
Grotesque.")
The movie is produced by JOEN, which is a joint venture between
Aniplex (a Sony media subsidiary),
CloverWorks (its animation studio),
Production I.G (its sister company),
Wit Studio (its publisher), Yūichi Fukushima (
CloverWorks producer), and
Tetsuya Nakatake (
Wit Studio producer).
