Film from director Atsushi Nishigori to feature 3 stories with different worldviews




On Friday, CloverWorks announced that their original anime movie, originally titled Grotesque but now known as Grotesqqque, will be released in 2026 along with a new video for the project.

Atsushi Nishigori is directing the movie, which is made up of three stories with different perspectives on the world.

- "Aeliens"
- "4649 Girl" (pronounced as "Yoroshiku★Shōjo," a pun on the words "Nice to Meet You★Girl" with the literal meaning of the kanji being "Evening Dew Heads to Its Death★Girl". The numbers 4649 can be read in Japanese as "Yoroshiku.")
- "Nocturne: Kono Grotesque na Yoru ni" (literally Nocturne: On This Grotesque Night, romanized in the above video as "Nocturn: En Cette Nuit Grotesque.")


The movie is produced by JOEN, which is a joint venture between Aniplex (a Sony media subsidiary), CloverWorks (its animation studio), Production I.G (its sister company), Wit Studio (its publisher), Yūichi Fukushima (CloverWorks producer), and Tetsuya Nakatake (Wit Studio producer).
