On Wednesday, MediaLink Entertainment Limited released a trailer for Kowloon Generic Romance, which is based on Jun Mayuzuki's manga of the same name. The video has both English and Chinese subtitles and shows that the film will be released in Hong Kong on September 11th.

The film opened in theaters in Japan on Friday.
In the live-action film, Reiko Kujirai is played by Riho Yoshikawa, who is blind, while Hajime Kudō is portrayed by Kōshi Mizukami, also known as Nina from My Love. Additionally, other actors featured in the film are Reiko Kujirai and Hajime Kudō.

In November 2019, Mayuzuki started publishing the manga series in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine. On April 17, the 11th compiled book volume was released by Shueisha. On October 28, Yen Press will release the 10th volume of the series.
The anime version of the manga began airing on April 5th in Japan. Crunchyroll made it available for streaming alongside the Japanese broadcast, with an English dub also available.
Mayuzuki's previous manga was After the Rain , which launched in Shogakukan 's Monthly Big Comic Spirits magazine in 2014 and transferred to Weekly Big Comic Spirits in early 2016, where it serialized a new chapter every other week until it ended in ( link ) In April 2018, Shogakukan released the last volume of the manga. Vertical then acquired the rights for the manga and compiled it into five omnibus volumes for release.
In January 2018, the animated series adaptation of the After the Rain manga was launched on Fuji TV's Noitamina block. It consisted of twelve episodes and was accessible exclusively on Amazon Prime Video both in Japan and globally. Additionally, a live-action film based on the manga was released in Japan in May of that same year.
