The GoFundMe campaign has raised CA$1,319 as of press time.
In his initial Facebook post from July 12th, Utanes stated that he had been dealing with stage 5 chronic kidney disease for quite some time now, undergoing dialysis for it for over a year. However, it was only recently that a doctor discovered a heart blockage which required a bypass surgery. After obtaining a second medical opinion, it was confirmed that this surgery was necessary.
